Did you know that you can use WinSCP to generate a code template for automating your code? It is very simple to do. Simply log connect to the server, using WinSCP, click on the Session>Generate Session URL/Code, and view the results in the next Window.

If you are interested in obtaining a template for a specific task, i.e uploading/downloading a file, you can also use WinSCP to provide you with a template.

Upload

1. Using WinSCP, navigate to the directory containing the file you wish to upload.

2. Click the drop-down arrow on the Upload option, this will display additional options.

3. Click on the Upload option, this will produce another Upload window,

• Click on the Transfer Settings drop-down.  A menu will appear. Click on the Generate Code menu item.

• Clicking on Generate Code will provide you with the code template for uploading the file.

Download

1. Using WinSCP navigate to the directory you wish to download the file from.

2. Click the drop-down arrow on the Download option, this will display additional options.

3. Click on the Download option, this will produce another Download window,

• Click on the Transfer Settings drop-down.  A menu will appear. Click on the Generate Code menu item.

• Clicking on Generate Code will provide you with the code template for downloading the file.
